Anyone own or have any experience with one? Are they worth the price? I have no Kimber experience, but always thought they were high end. The idea of the heavier barrel in a lighter package checks some boxes for me. I am looking at the 6.5 for reference.

I got to shoot one several months back, it was a nice gun. Sorry I dont have more to add but it was a fun gun to shoot.

How was the accuracy?

Better than what im capable of. The guy who has that rifle also had a few other non typical kimber rifles, one was like a police tactical one and another one was a varmint 223 with a short barrel. The open country seemed like an awesome rifle though.

I owned one for a bit... it wasn’t for me. I wanted the stock to be more along the lines of the Montana, it had a beaver tail that was good for a Benchrest gun but I wasn’t a big fan. It also didn’t gel well it’s my suppresor, poi moved around too much for my taste.

Good gun, very lightweight for what it was (sub 7# benchrest/varmint gun) it just didn’t fit my style of hunting.

Thanks guys, anyone else? I have been reading about Kimber issues with accuracy and feeding. I have had issues with other manufactures. Its nothing new to have a problem here or there, just how the company deals with them is important to me.

I’ve got several Kimber rifles and they all shoot lights out. I purchased a OC 6.5 CM when they first came out and I really enjoy the rifle. The accuracy is Sub MOA our to 300 yards with 130-142gr bullets and gives excellent velocity with Reloder 16. Better than H4350. The cerakote (KimPro) on it is a bit too easy to damage and isn’t as durable as others I’ve had. Using Sierra data, I started to get some pressure signs towards top end loading with RL-16 but impressive velocity. Didn’t have a chance to hunt with it as I had other choices. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again but I see the price has gone up. I picked mine up for around $1650 OTD IIRC.
