your description is correct... It is a Mountain Ascent (rifle name) sub alpine is the name of the camo pattern. open country would be the other option, and they made it in solid colorsIT WAS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THIS IS A SUBALPINE, NOT A MOUNTAIN ASCENT. I DID NOT EVEN PAY ATTENTION TO IT. MY APOLOGIES IF THAT IS/WAS AN ISSUE.
Appreciate it. That's what I thought, too. But, I figured I would throw it out there in case anyone was curious. Still a great gun at a great price.your description is correct... Close but no. The sub alpine is a Montana with a Sitka subalpine stock. Still a great gun but a mountain ascent has a fluted barrel, bolt, bolt handle and extractor.your description is correct... There is/was a mountain ascent in subalpine and also a green one (I have one) but before that they had one just called the “subalpine”. They don’t make it any longer. That’s what this one is.If anyone is interested here is the link
Damn good gun atta damn good priceMountain Ascent (Subalpine)
The Ultimate high country mountain rifle. Weight shaving standard features such as Carbon fiber reinforced stock, fluted barrel, spiral fluted bolt body & skeletonized bolt knob and extractor bring this lightweight champion in at a under 5 lbs. while still retaining Sub-MOA accuracy!www.kimberamerica.com
From the pics it looks like it does not have a fluted bolt/bolt handle or barrel but the extractor is machined out so it’s a subalpine, not a mountain ascent. Still a kickass rifle for sure but not a mountain ascent is all.Does this one have a fluted bolt and skeletonized bolt handle?

Cool, I didn’t realize the subalpine had a fluted barrel. The mountain ascent will be stamped “mountain ascent” on the barrel.Flutes on barrel (marked "Subalpine") and no flutes on bolt
