Kimber .308 84m

Hello all, I’m having an issue with my Kimber 84m classic chambered in .308. After I shoot it the case gets stuck in chamber and the bolt will be stuck. I’ve tried all different types of ammo and nothing has changed. I do notice some scuffing on the bottom rim of the casing when finally getting them unstuck. I’ve contacted Kimber sent my gun in and they told me since I modified my gun(put a muzzle break) they will not work on it. I’m not sure what else to do. Any help or input would be much appreciated.

Take it to a local reputable gunsmith.
Idiotic they won't work on it with a muzzle device. They probably know everyone puts a muzzle brake or suppressor on so then they don't have to fix. My wife has the 6.5 84M and I love that little rifle.

Was it doing that before you installed the muzzle brake? When did this start?
It’s been doing this since before muzzle brake problem would come and go but got increasingly worse to where case would not eject without the help of cleaning rod down barrel.

They won't work on anything but factory original. I have had two stocks crack and had to pay to have cerakote removed from the action and barrel before they would replace the stock.

Check the extractor assembly. I've had to bend 2 of mine to 1) get reliable extraction and 2) get rid of the rattle it made

Send pics of your bolt and I'll circle what I'm talking about

That is another issue I’ve been having. This last time is when I realized this issue. Would that be reason for the whole bolt to not move forward or backwards though? I figured bolt would still open but round would stay stuck by itself.

Hard to tell if it's just lighting but that extractor looks like it's seen a lot more than 30 rds.

Pop it off and put a small curve in it, forcing ends slightly tighter to bolt assembly than the middle. That fixed both of mine instantly. The CS gang at Kimber is 100% useless...they wanted me to send the entire rifle back after the extractor broke on my .243...stupid, just ship me a replacement.

Note: the extractor did not break from bending, it was literally first range trip, cycled the bolt, SNAP.

Despite their occasional shortcomings, they're special rifles in terms of weight/handling/accuracy potential, let us know if that fixes it and don't overdo it on the force.

Bolt looks so worn from running bolt all the time trying to figure out issue and trying to get the bolt unstuck. So bend the circle part outwards?

Yep the entire extractor should be ever so slightly convex. You'll know it's right because everything will lock into place tighter when you piece it back together, and the action won't be sloppy or rough.

The claw itself looks pretty clapped on yours from all the jamming into brass, might need a new one all together, but you should be able to make the current one more than serviceable by correcting that angle placing some tension back into claw, plenty of meat left on the claw imho.

I'm 99.9% sure that's what you've got going on.

Notice the groove on the bolt and the clearance on the extractor.....the extractor will drop into the groove and the clearance will allow the bolt lug to pass.
