I started with an outdoor edge as an adult onset hunter, and copied the others who had switched to the new at the time replacement blade systems. I had a Havalon first but the blades were too small. I switched to Outdoor Edge.

I never really considered anything else until Rokslide…

So, now I am replacing my Outdoor Edge replaceable blade system for a Canadian Belt Knife by @Dixie. Design and quality is there for the prototype he sent me to have 100% confidence it will do an elk (plus) and retain its edge. The CBK knife is easy to use and there is a whole different thread on the Mini Canadian Belt Knife.

I wanted to keep a small replaceable razor knife of some sort for small detail work, fleshing out a skull, etc.

I found this titanium version on Amazon that takes #23 blades and weighs .25 ounces.

I too have been using Grohmann CBK in my kill kit. In addition I have a Havalon. I will be getting my CBK from Dixie in the very near future and that will be my go to knife.

That thread about the CBK brought me back to fixed blades, which I used outdoors all the time before hunting. Dixie makes an awesome knife.

Some of the other makers like @CypressCreek have great ideas and fabulous knives. I hope more people go back to a good knife or upgrade to a better knife.

My kill kit sharps change based on what and where I am hunting. A CBK should be a part of everyone's rotation though.. for a skinning knife they are a very good design. I generally use an upswept semi skinner instead of the CBK only because it's blade shape has all the same benefits but the grip shape is much better for my hands.

@CypressCreek has some designs like what I would call hybrid design. CBK blade shape but more traditional handle.

I could see some small changes eventually, but a CBK will always be in there.

I have thoughts of designing a replaceable blade in the leaf shape of a CBK. The blade just flat works wonders.
