Thanks guys I appreciate the input. I placed an order for a 2800 and an ultralight frame today.

slim,

Thanks for all you've contributed to this thread. I didn't end up getting a muskeg bag, but I have learned some things about frame fitment from your pictures. Appreciate it!

GG what size bag is that pictured?

2800 with the guide lid. Originally they sent me the 5000. I got it and thought, somethings off here then I noticed no pocket on top. Called and the nextday’ed my 2800.

The 5000 is HUGE, I couldn’t fill it with all my gear plus every different bag I own; 0°, 20°, 40° quilt and my Marine Corps woobie. Lol

7-10 days, 40 lbs with room to spare. The same gear barely fit in my old pack.

Is that 7-10 days with food? Thought I was gonna get the mid size, but after seeing your pics I’m really liking that one.

Yes w/food. We make our own meals. I’ve made a conscious effort to go ultralight on everything so the 5000 is too much for me.

Awesome! Thanks, that’s the rout I’m thinking of going. Gonna make my own meals this year as well.

Just a quick update (not trying to hijack Les’ thread). So far this new frame has been superior to anything Kifaru has released (Lite and UL) And I own them all. The comfort from 20 to 60 pounds is unmatched and there really is no difference between the two options so far. Soon I will get them loaded up with over 100 pounds and we will see how they do. I have high hopes.

Thanks for the extra photos. I'm having a hard time trying to decide between the 2800 and 5000. I'll probably have to buy both and send back one.
