I know i'm behind on the times with packs but here is a question.. I own one of the original Timberline packs with two aluminum stays. I assume this pack or this particular design is no longer in production correct? Also, If I wanted to try one of the New Apollo packs from Kifaru would I have to buy the bag and a totally new frame system? The frame from my current pack won't work for any of the new designs right? If so anyone know what the pack I own would be worth -ballpark- It has the guide lid, grab-it, two ul belt pockets.. Doubt I will sell it but who knows, would probably lose a ton of $ doing that seeing how I paid nearly $900 for this setup.. Thanks for your thoughts.

If it's an internal frame no other bags will work, if it has any version duplex all the bags other then internal framed ones will fit.

Is "Duplex" this flat shield looking piece.. I think mine is just two aluminum stays without the duplex but I could be mistaken. I think it was the first timberline that Aron helped design..

Look at the Kifaru website, duplex is the name of the external frame. Based on what your saying I think you have an internal frame T1. I would say resale is around $350 not including accessories.

Dogman I think your right. I will think it over if.i can't afford a new pack outright I might could sell mine and buy a new one. I use horses and mules for going into the back country now, so using that large of a pack is a little cumbersome for a day pack.

$350 - bag
$50 - lid
$50 - both belt pouches
$25 - grab it
?? - shipping
$475 + shipping would be my guess.

You'll definitely have to chip in some money if you get a new frame and bag with some accessories.

I think your on the right track. And I would be willing to pay to get the extras I wanted etc.
