Kifaru Sherman pocket use?

Just received a sherman pocket. Whyll I was excited to get it, I dont know if I need it now. My setup now is the muskeg 7k with x pac guide lid and some pockets. Use it everything from day hunt to pack in. Whyll the sherman seems really nice and I do like the shape and all of it I guess I'm just not seeing a use for it over the guide lid? CI is way more on the guide lid and weight is less. Am I missing something?

I actually am using mine in place of a grab it on the bottom of the pack. Then when you want to hunt with a gun release the top straps and let it hang down to put the butstock in I believe that is the way it was designed to be used

^^This! I'm the same way. For archery hunting I probably won't use the Sherman and will utilize my OGL, but once rifle season starts I will swap the OGL for the Sherman for all the reasons previously mentioned.

It does look like a good setup. I guess I'm more wondering more is their a use on a larger style ci pack. If I hook it up like a grab it, then flip it and put the gun in the bit stock hangs darn near to my knees. Defanitly not going to work that low

I'm not real familiar with the Muskeg. Is there a place to attach it higher up on the pack for when you are carrying the rifle?

That's what I'm playing with now. Nice thing with these packs is anything's possible.

I think I can get what I want out of it. Which is mainly the gun carry option. Run it under the guid lid, flip it over and move the clips from the bottom up the thr snow skirt clips. If I drop my med and large pockets from the equation I keep the same ci at 500 and only gain 4 oz
