Looking for some opinions and also some pitch styles for these two tarps. Looking to get one or the other for a hunt this next season for a emergency or overnight stay from camp.
I know the paratarp is larger in size but this will just be for me only running solo

for a weight penalty of roughly 4-5 oz, I went with the paratarp. Does everything the sheep tarp does, but better. Ever been under a tarp and wish you had some side protection?

I don't care for either. Granted, they are better than nothing, but I can't even sit up in the paratarp. I found the sheep tarp to be a huge pain in the ass to set up. Maybe if I weren't impatient I could've spent more time getting the pitch right.

If I had to make a choice though, it'd be the paratarp hands down.

What do you prefer for a tarp?

I carry the paratarp for an emergency shelter, or to get out of the rain quickly on most all backpack hunts in the mountains. It also makes a great meat cache and gear stash in the evenings. That being said, it would never be my primary shelter as it's too small to be comfortable and contain a backpack/bow. JMO
