A new frame sheet is a small price to pay to gain a life long customer. Its just bad customer management. Look at how all the kifaru customer service threads blow up quick. Its cheaper to keep customers than to get new ones

Maybe if you split it from the top removed the stay sleeve then sewed new loops into the fabric the resew around and resew the frame stay sleeve. Im sure its possible. Most home sewing machines wont go through the plastic frame sheet though

How does it gain them a retail customer when their actions would have re incentivized his choice to buy use?
Why buy from them or their retailers when he can buy used from joe blow and get the same service?
Lots of little small costs add up.

Why dont you ask steve or kurt what they think. They own pack companies. Or just look at their actions or kifaru prior ownerships actions. Not that hard to figure out

What's not that hard to figure out is there are people that feel entitled to something they didn’t pay for? You'd be pissed if a company didn't follow their expressed warranty on a product someone bought from them, and rightly so.
In this case they followed though of their original warranty. Sometimes you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Whats not hard to figure out is the pack company wins in the end. Its a marketing strategy

If it's winning play then why not just warranty everything for life regardless of who purchased it? If its a winning play for this why isn't a winning play for sale even if it was second or third or forth hand?

You mean like kifaru used to do? Do you know what lifetime warranty means?
Do you know what bad publicity is? this will be the 3rd or 4th thread with over 100
Posts bashing kifarus new customer service. Dont see those threads for sg or exo.

If you owned a business you would understand, bad reviews (aka this thread) are worth a frame sheet repair

I read this as he is seeking a professional repair, not a warranty claim. Explicitly:
I didn't ask for a warranty. I've had many reputable companies repair, replace, or "make it right" on gear that has failed.

It's akin to taking your Toyota to the Toyota dealership and having them tell you they don't work on Toyota vehicles.

What does lifetime warranty mean to you?
That’s a very relative term and not all companies look at it the same way.

So what? why do you care? Are you a stake holder?

That's a legitimate complaint.

I don't. Just sick of seeing whiny bitches wanting hand outs, and when they don't get then bashing a company. And I Am not referring to the OP.
A product with a lifetime warranty broke, a known issue none the less, and they refuse to repair it or replace it when they would have used to. This past cs put them at the top of the market. Its just dumb for them not to do it. That all im saying.

I think the OP just wanted to get his pack fixed?

That seems pretty reasonable to me.

It seems like something that could be done for a small fee, and also something that they don't do anymore.

I bet old Patrick Smith would be stoked to see what's left of his company. Uprooted, sold out to investors, and reputation degraded.

It makes me glad to be able to support other companies that refuse to sell out.

Sort of.

You could have a problem with a Toyota that’s not covered by warranty, where a major component needs replacement because a repair is not possible. But they most certainly will perform the replacement repair.

Here Kifaru sends OP a link to a whole new frame w/ suspension, not a replacement frame sheet (which are also out of stock). It makes me question if there is any planned aftermarket support for the DL? As well, I think those loops shouldn’t pull out and if Kifaru lacks the skill to make a fix that’s a design and service problem.

Ask kifaru about the belt that's going to wear a hole in it. They know it happens and they could patch it.....but they'll happily sell you a new, very expensive belt and charge you lots for shipping.

i bet exo and sg would have replaced it. It’s just a frame sheet. If you are using the pack enough to break you are likely a great ambassador for the brand and giving you a new frame sheet would likely result in you buying an ark at full price a few years later. Now you’ll probably move to sg or exo.
In my experience that is true.

That sucks. I would like to think they could repair for a fee at least.
I would've GLADLY paid. I probably would've even bought the new frame sheet. Despite some of the posts I'm not a bottom sucker, discount buyer, bottom feeder, give me give me user of their products. There is more ways then one to make it right. Telling me to buy an entirely new frame is not it.

Once upon a time badlands was a good company. I broke their frame in half. All they asked was I pay shipping and they sent out a new frame. I wasn't asked if I purchased it at a "discount". They stood behind the products. As I said. That ship sailed to China. I believe Kifaru will be the same shortly. I switched to Kifaru for the same type of customer service. I cannot justify spending 1k on a new setup to risk the same result.
