Here is a brand new, never been out of the house RG X-Ray with some slight modifications done by me. Semi flat composite stays, size small belt, no grommets.
The modifications are as follows:
1) As you can see in the pictures, I have permanently stitched the shoulder straps to the bag. This gets rid of the big metal 2” three bar sliders, and excess webbing.
2) I put an aluminum crossbar inside a piece of tubular webbing connecting the two composite stays. This prevents the pack from collapsing in on itself while hanging in a tree and provides an overall stiffer frame.
3) I also removed the top lid pocket divider, creating a single, large, pass-through pocket. She’s mint!
