Kifaru puffy, thoughts?

How many have the kifaru puffy or have used one? It keeps catching my eye but I just haven't heard too much about it. Thanks.

A great piece of kit. Warm, blocks wind well and seems durable. From my experience warmer that FL puffy and the Kuiu SD jackets. Takes up more space up in pack in comparison. Wish it was full zip but I think the pull over design is thermally more effecient. I have no hesitations to recommend

It works well, is very warm, more durable than any other puffy I have had, and the front pouch works well as a hand warmer and of course works well with a pack on.
It is not as pack able as some others, and the hood (when left on) does not have front to back adjustments.
I like mine a lot....but I do plan to build some adjustments into the hood.

Sam Millard did a video review on his and he stated he used it in ~20 degree weather for 2-3 hours. I've yet to hear other temp ratings but it's a good indicator of it's warmth.

I just wish Kifaru would offer it in green or grey.

Yea I used mine last year in -25 degree. I had a few other layers as well.

I have a foliage color one! But like I said it was the old versions the packlok parka!

I've been using mine alot this late season. Absolutely love it. I'm in the middle of a review of it for the website. Should be published in the near future.

I haven't had mine long, it is bulkier then the FL but by holding in the air scientific weight measurement I don't feel a big diff here. I really like the reinforced cordura areas. I would recommend it purely on my experience with my woobie and how it has performed in warmth and durability. The LPP uses a better synthetic insulation then what my woobie has so should be much warmer.

So far I don't might the half zip pullover design, the biggest downside to the FL was crappy zippers. The zipper on the LPP is much better but if it broke the pullover design will still be easy to contain warmth.

Love mine. Use it all the time now that the snows here to stay up here. Very warm, almost sleeping bag like in feel.

No more shine to the material than any other puffy.
Yes, I use it whitetail hunting, but it is a bit loud for bow hunting as an outer layer.

I'm making an educated guess here that the parka is the same material as the woobies. The woobies/doobies initially have a shine to them. After use it should dull. My 7 year old woobie no longer has a shine to it

It is far and away the warmest puffy. The KUIU SD or any other UL down puffy is not even close on warmth and durability. Its warmer then the FL puffy but IMO you cant really compare the LP to any of these. I have heard to comments about the jacket that i totally agree with. Not sure you would need it in the pack until October when the temps drop.

I just got the lost park parka about a month ago and so far I love it... minus a couple small things.

Things I don't like:
1. I hate the hood, I'm used to my Arc'teryx hood which stays put on your head. The Kifaru hood isn't very impressive.
2. Good luck keeping ANYTHING in your main pocket. Everything slides right out, I can already see me losing something.
3. The draw cord gets caught on stuff easily, I wish the location of the draw cord was inside the pocket (that's only a few inches away).
4. The cut is okay, just a slight bulky for my taste

Things I like:
1. It's freaking warm
2. Did I mention it's warm?
3. It's warm enough to warrant me buying a slick bag with the Climashield Apex

I would have bought one already if they offered it in foilage or wolf grey and maybe even black.

I used mine some in May during our spring bear season, and lived in it during our November deer season. Warm, and surprisingly water-resistant. I like the big hood, because I can wear my ear-pro under it if I want, and can zip it completely off if not needed. Jessica says it looks a little goofy, but it functions very well! With the Cordura facing, it's very tough, right where I need it to be. I don't think it's shiny at all, and while the nylon and cordura make predictable scraping noises on brush and stuff, the material doesn't get "crinkly" when cold like some other brands I've tried, mainly Sitka. It makes a hell of a nice camp pillow, and a useful rifle rest when packed in the XL Kifaru pullout I store it in. IMO, it's a keeper!

I concur I love mine and it's extremely versatile. I primarily bought it to wear around the ranch in cold weather. I wore it several days on this years elk hunt. Doesn't seem much louder than other puffys I own. It's a synthetic so it doesn't compress as well as down but the weight to warmth ratio for me makes it one of my favorites. I like mine so much I'm really thinking I need a spare.only thing I wish they'd change would be to add either some Velcro or zippers on the pocket though. Really wish it had the zippered pouch like its predecessor from kifaru. I wore mine in freezing rain during our rifle deer season and was warm and dry.
