I started of with the reckoning liked it but just didn’t do everything I wanted so I bought the fulcrum and it was better just to much bag most of the time finally settled on the nomad 2 and I love it

Ya that was just seeing how much I could get in it the native and large spotting scope pocket hold my camp and I had my dry bag stuffed with pillows to simulate how big it would be with meat

Nomad II on the 26" duplex lite. Super versatile for long pack in hunts (OR 35L or 55L depending on stay) or just run and gun from the truck.
Possibilities are endless

Is that the dry sack from Kifaru's website? I have the large Pnuma dry sack and it's specs say it's larger but yours here looks huge. Thanks for any info.

I have a similar setup but without the naitive or spotting scope pocket and it works great. Gear is much easier to access than my previous setup.

Bringing this back up as I’m considering a Nomad 2. Currently have a Reckoning on a Hunter Platform but don’t like hauling around thousands of inches of empty bag for no reason. How stable, and usable, are the Nomad 2 pockets in day mode? Do you have to run the straps over them to secure them, and then loosen or remove to get items out? I do not want to add pockets other than a nalgene holder and possibly a small bag on the belt.
I have an OR 55l bag for getting camp in and out. I would add the grab-it for supporting meat.

Pockets are very usable. Without anything in the center they will flop around a little. One compression strap around the middle keeps them very stable though. Plenty of room for puffy jacket, rain gear, kill kit ect. I do have the Sherman pocket in place of a grab it for a little extra space, but it would not be necessary. I also added a large pocket and a gps holder on the belt opposite the Nalgene bottle for holding my range finder and snacks, but also not necessary if you don’t want them. This setup is the most organized and useful my pack has ever been.

They have some wobble to them if you are planning to clip them to each other and have nothing behind them. I usually run one strap over the top to secure or run the OGL under which fills the gap.

I had drawn out what I wanted in a pack. Tired of large bags carried empty most of the time. Somehow had missed the Nomad. I think it will be perfect.

For you nomad users, is it suppose to attach to the frame anywhere on the sides or just top and bottom?

Thought I would just post some pictures of my daypack setup for this season as it currently sits. Its a nomad 2, an old spotting scope pocket on the back, xpac belt pouch below the bag, and an xpac guide lid to top it off.

Spotting scope pocket in the center. I like that.

I like the looks of that. What do you do with the spotting scope pocket when you start out with a load od meat?
