Just a quick thought, I took my LPP out today to give it a test run in this weather we're having. Central Oklahoma, wind chills around -20 I believe. Took a quick stroll (15 minutes) and had full exposure to the wind. This thing rocks. As long as my exertion level would stay up to walking or above level, I believe I'd stay warm for a very long time, cuts wind very well. Had I been sitting I would have needed a secondary mid weight layer.

My brother uses one for backpacking. No idea on the temps but it seemed nice. Less durable I'd guess, but it has its place I'd bet

According to their site the Large is 23oz and the Medium is 21oz

Edit: those are the weights of the full zip. The half zip medium is 19oz and large is 21oz
Many thanks! I didn't find this information on their website. I guess I'm blind...

my LPP is one of my favorite hunting items... late season i always have it on me, it's awesome getting to a good glassing spot and putting it on.... doesn't matter what the weather is doing, i'll be able to hang out comfortably... even in the 40's and windy can be cold if glassing for awhile, that LPP has really made life more enjoyable glassing blacktail in Oct/Nov, and hunts after that. i'll probably pack it often spring bear hunting too.... i remember some days freezing sitting on a wind swept hillside glassing country.... especially after walking a few miles and warming up before i post up on a vantage for the evening.

i'm probably gonna get the pants as well

What temps have you stayed stationary and comfortable in?

Fun story... this last waterfowl season I walked about a mile out to the blind in 35 degree weather wearing my LPP and ended up taking a fall in the water while crossing a ditch. The water got into my chest waders and I got soaked. Ended up taking off the waders and dumping them out before getting to the blind. The weather heated up to about 50 by noon when I called it quits but I was shocked at how warm I stayed even while soaked in near freezing water.

I'm pretty sure the exertion I put forth getting to the spot where I fell and the LPP's ability to trap heat and act like an oven while wet was the difference in me staying out there for 7+ hours versus going home for the day had I worn a down jacket instead.

The LPP is nice, I’ve had mine for about 4 years now, it pretty much always goes along. Sheep hunts, moose hunts, snow machining I don’t leave it behind. I have the pants too, they are great after a long damp cold day when I can get into my bed time Marino wool and just pull the LPP pants and jacket over it to hang out in until I’m ready to crash out.

I’ve had the jacket completely drenched and it kept me warm.

I’ve been thinking of getting one, how do they fit? I’m 6’ 200lbs with long arms and wear a large FL Seak. Do these fit similar?

I’m about your size, 6’ 195-200#, long arms. The large fits well.

I love my LPP but frankly I wore it hunting one time and that was one too many. Granted I mostly bowhunt but the noise and the fit and the ability to retain warmth are just too much for the things I do. Its a great jacket for ice fishing and for snow blowing the driveway, but in terms of hunting I don't think I could layer appropriately to use it.
