Kifaru AMR or Mountain Warrior

Does anyone have any pictures of the top and bottom openings on the AMR? I can't seem to find any pics of them open on the internetz. I really like the panel opening on the MW but if the openings are large on the AMR it probably wouldnt matter much. All my crucial items I would want access to would be in the guide lid or the back pockets vs inside the pack for bulkier items. Thanks

Here's a few pics. Hard to show how big the openings are relative to anything but...

That's a full size iPad in an Otterbox Defender case and a copy of the latest Western Hunter magazine. The rough measurements are somewhere between 14" and 16" laying a tape in an + either direction.

Still not super pleased with the pics. They just don't do the AMR justice. Having had an EMRII, DT1/2, Highcamp 48/70, and a MW I can promise you the AMR is bigger and has a wider top and bottom opening. Access to items when cinched or expanded just isn't an issue with the AMR.

It's a great "one and done" bag for the guy that's planning to use a single bag for cinched down day trips while having the option to open it up for 14+ day trips.

WTF is that your Snuggie & blanket in your AMR?

You must be old if you remember the snuggie...

Had to stuff my station blankets inside to fill out the bag for pics. The 40# sand just didn't fill it up enough.

I'm definitely coming around to the AMR. It looks like it would be very easy to access gear. Realistically, I really only need a pack for 2-3 days but I'm also of the mindset that I like the option to expand and carry excess for longer trips or if I need to haul more gear for family/kids. From the pics I've seen it looks like it really compresses down well for day trips and short duration needs as well.

I just recently joined the Kifaru clan and had the same dilemma, my solution was to purchase both.

Got a sweet deal on a brand new, previously owned Tac Warrior and then added an AMR when I purchased my frame from Aron and company.
Love the Warrior for backpacking trips with the family and training hikes, really has the right size for a few days out with the kids and such. The panel give great access and the back pocket is large. Obviously can be kitted up with pockets to gain extra volume and organization.
I could be very happy with this bag if it weren't for two week gear intensive trips and Moose or other high volume loadouts.

I spoke with Aron @ length about just how big the AMR really is before purchasing and you can believe this pack is cavernous, it's deceiving as his videos show just how compact this bag packs down to in day hunt mode.

You blow this thing all the way open and it's a serious hauler with plenty of expandability, makes me hurt all over just thinking about the weight I might try to carry.
Not trying to talk you out of the AMR but three day loadouts are a breeze in the Warrior, and as stated earlier adding pockets can and will extend it's versatility.

OR you could do as I did and just buy both.
