Kifaru 44mag vs Hoodlum

Which pack would you pick for 4-5 day western mule deer and/or elk hunt. Usually in early season archery but I don’t want to limit myself if I got a good late season tag.

The 44 Mag has quite the thread going and it is a sexy pack but I’m worried the size may limit it’s versatility. That being said I’ve never needed to extend the collar on my current 6000ci bag.

The 44 mag is plenty big to do 4-5 days

I think 4-5 easy in 44mag, I do in my tahr. Load shelf may not be perfect for meat but does work. For late season I have a reckoning I have not used just cause clothing and sleep gear is bulkier

The 44 mag has a lot of options for adding pockets that I think it could do 7-10 days no problem if you needed it to. A lid and a Sherman pocket on the 44 mag would add quite a bit of space and could be removed for those shorter hunts
