I have grandkids from 12 -21 that hunt and this year for Christmas I am giving them a get thru the night kit.
1. Candle in a tin about the size of a chew can
2. Space blanket
3. stainless steel mug
4.pealess plastic whistle scare the boogerman away or to signal.
5.lighter,storm matches, quickfire
6. 1AA battery pen light
7.Small chem light
8. small bundle of 220 cord
They all fit in the cup in a qt ziplock bag.
Thinking the candle under the E blanket would give them the heat needed to make it thru a cold night.
Candle for light.
Cem light for a buzzsaw signal
Sit with Back to the tree in a tree well, make a small wedge tent to sit under the trap candle heat.
Cup so they could melt snow over the candle if water is needed to heat the body from the inside also
This would be a supplement to their hunting gear so no knife, or any of that type stuff.
Thoughts ?

Good list.

3. Switch to titanium mug. - if its too heavy it gets left at home and does no good.
6. Switch to UL headlamp - NiteCore NU05 V2 - might as well have a headlamp/flashlight/red strobe all in one.
