i bought my first blind for this spring to take my nephew out. he shoots a #32 recurve. do you think the shot through mesh will mess with his arrow? would i just be better off removing them for him?

No, the mesh wont affect his arrow flight but I would have him practice shooting through the blind with and without the mesh. If this is his first blind he will need to get used to how to draw in the blind and shooting from a sitting or kneeling position as well. He will enjoy it actually! Also, it wouldnt hurt shooting a few broad heads through the mesh so he knows it wont affect his shot.

For me, I'd remove it. The mesh is not necessary and it "could" cause an issue whereas removing it would eliminate that all together.

Definitely have him practice shooting out of the blind. I found that out with my wife at full draw on a bear 10 yards away.

Recurve out of most blinds can be tricky without practice.

Good luck!

update... my little guy will be posting up using natural cover. as Nick said ,a recurve in a blind is tricky. My dad,who has shot recurves his whole life easily mastered it.for my nephew who is a beginning archer,it proved too tricky. this hunt will still be awesome, thanks guys.

From what I've heard mesh and expandable broadheads don't mix. I really don't think you need it...just keep movement to a minimum.
