Great accuracy, good sights and can be fitted to a full-size stock later.
I still have the one I bought my son 14 years ago.

As others have said, the CZ 457 Scout is hard to beat. I have one that "is for the kids." I also use it frequently. It comes with a single shot mag adapter, so I picked up a 5-round mag for it. There are a lot of stock options you can pick up after he outgrows the Scout stock. or just add a spacer.

I dropped my tikka t1x in a tikka compact stock for my 9 year old and it seems to fit great. I like a bolt action for a kid learning how to shoot.

I wish Tikka would offer a factory T1X Compact model. That would be great.
