Ketogenic diet--back on it for a while

I think the comment was questioning why people get off it, if it's so good...
This has been covered. Are you insinuating that it doesn't work and feel good? Or that it's impossible to maintain?

I've gone through phases in my life where I've been really good about meditating regularly. It has dramatic benefits and feels incredible. It's also somewhat difficult to do daily. Does that mean it's a bad idea?

Would you say the same thing about running or lifting weights? How different is it from hearing people say, "I want to get back into going to the gym?" Are you going to say that because people have difficulty staying on track in the gym, it's not sustainable and the gym is unhealthy?

Keto is similar, its beneficial but requires you to make it a priority, which isnt always easy to do. It just has a negative connotation from people who don't understand it.

I think that's how most people diet, no matter the name or strategy.

The difference is, keto works and feels so good, people want to get back into it.

Nobody says, "I want to get back into the salad and smoothie diet."

People are most critical of what they don't understand.
My point is literally everyone I know personally that "does keto" has an unhealthy relationship with food. IE, they use it to cope. Solve that first.

I did it for years on and off while lifting heavily. For me, it limited my output and I would get gassed very easily. What I found better was timing carbs around activity. My body responds much better to that and I don't feel like shit or crash in the middle of activity. Our bodies burn carbs, plain and simple. Give your body carbs when you need it. Especially quick digesting carbs during a workout mixed with protein/BCAAs and other supplements to get your body to shuttle those into your muscles. Similar to how body builders take insulin.

This takes more work than just keto alone because you need to be active but it's much more sustainable.
