Kestrel

I’m so lost.
I want to buy a kestrel. I know I want the ballistic one. Which one 4dof or applied ballistics ?

I have been running the 5700 Elite with AB software for years. It is amazing. The calculations are always reliable once you have set up the load and trued it. If I am out with a rifle, I have my 5700 with me.

I went and got a kestrel 2500NV for help in my long range shooting quest. Found out later my phone and Strelok App does everything I needed it to do for that aspect, internal barometer, etc. The kestrel is small enough that I still pack it in my bino pouch, mainly because I like to guess wind every once in a while and I can yank the kestrel out and see if my guess was accurate.

I would go with the 5700, unless you use already use 4DOF and Hornady products. If you have money, the 5700 Elite with LiNK could be nice.

I currently don't have a Kestrel, and I want one/have researched them for weather in the mountains, not ballistics. So don't count my opinion above that of anyone who uses one for shooting.
