Many here may remember that in May I had my cherry Toyota T-100 and newly purchased Yamaha grizzly 700 atv in the bed both ripped off near Seattle.
I've learned a lot through this, but the biggest lesson is that I should've had a vehicle disabling system of some kind on the truck before heading to that s-hole.
So this post is especially for those of us who have older, non-chip keyed vehicles that are a joke to steal. That is to say we don't have a factory 'theft-proof' chipped key to start our rigs.
I have a very clean 2001 Tundra (no chipped key) at this point and I've solved this problem by installing a fuel pump disabler on it.
The fuel pump is enabled by a quick push of a fob on my key-chain just prior to starting.
If I don't push the button the truck barely runs if at all.
It's plug and play, unplug your fuel pump relay and pop this in. DONE. And this will work with newer rigs too, should add another layer of protection from theft.

I hid the extra OEM relay on my rig where it will not be found by anyone but me should I ever need it.

This kit was $89.00 from Mobilistics (no affiliation to me.) Cyclops offers one for about twice that, but my system has been bulletproof.

Thanks for posting this! Sorry your rig got ripped off, I avoid Seattle if at all possible. I had a truck with a snowplow on it stolen there many years ago.

I put a Viper alarm on mine. It is GPS-ed. It won't start if broken into. I can also set a moving perimeter, so if it goes outside the perimeter it shuts off and will not start. It connects to my smart phone, sends me a message if anything happens. I can view my trucks exact realtime location anytime. I can remotely unlock, start and shut the vehicle down. Yeah, the system is pricey and there are service plans of one and multiple years. But hey, it provides some real piece of mind.
