Have a buddy that used to work on a ranch down there we are planning a hunt for 2017 in either unit 20 or 21 unsure of how the property line goes through the unit as of now.... We are wanting to do this archery and will most likely be going the opening week due to my wife being a school teacher and us having a new born.... Is this a unit we will want to buy points for this year or is it a pretty easy tag to draw?? Also how do the Doe tags work??? We'd both love to stick a nice buck but wouldn't mind bringing some meat home to. Do you have to draw for doe tags if not how many can you buy??

Thanks in advance

Colton

Points are cheap enough to buy I'd just get one. Doe tags are draw

Is there a way to get both a buck and a doe tag?

Oh okay I gotcha well our plan for now will be buy a pref point this year then hopefully draw next year and be able to buy a doe tag as well....

How will August 15th-22nd be? Guessing will be strictly waterhole or fence opening hunting

How do lopes act to a newly set blind?

Those units have leftovers. If you put in for a buck and 2 does you will draw. Can even buy more later if you want. Also unlimited doe/fawn whitetail tags. No need for points.

Would we better off hunting private ground in those units or doing a BLM hunt on a harder to draw unit?

Ok well plenty of time and at only 30 bucks for a pref point still have plenty of time to figure it out thanks for all your help thus far I'm sure I'll have plenty of more questions as the time gets closer

20 usually has a bunch of leftover tags for bucks and does. I got 2 buck tags and 4 doe tags last year all as leftovers after the draw. During rifle season there were lots of people on the public but not very many willing to walk. If you have access to private that will help a bunch on the quality of the hunt.

Very limited public land in that area. There are antelope in the oil fields south of Kaycee about 30 minutes
