Sorry up front for the long read but I'm at work for 7 more hrs. so here we go lol.
Fellow gun hunters I have a dilemma,
Kansas Trespasser problem:
First, I am not an outfitter, I do all my whitetail hunting DIY. I live in Iowa, and I lease 4 farms in Kansas every year - the problem I'm having is we are only bowhunting the properties. In my area of Kanas it takes 1 point to draw the tag so I hunt every other year and a couple of my buddy's hunt on my off year, so nobody is on any of the properties during gun season and of course I'm getting the occasional weird photo here and there of someone that I don't know or my neighbor telling me that there's a weird vehicle parked by my lease - that kind of stuff isn't common but, in my opinion, once is too much.
So, the solution in my mind is to build a list of guys that like to DIY rifle hunt and like to save some dollars instead of paying high dollar for an outfitted whitetail hunt. I'm thinking 2 rifle hunters per year on the 4 farms during gun season would solve the trespasser problem plus give the guys a quality gun hunt.
The areas my farms are in are above average in my opinion and in the middle of nowhere so that helps - this is east central Kansas so corn and bean country - hotels and food is DIY, this is little Kansas town / hunter friendly people very laid back lol.
If you're interested and close to Kansas, then we can figure out a day you can drive over, and I can show you around so there's no bull and you can tell that it's the real deal plus meet in person. We've killed some good deer off these farms and I'm down there every other week (half work half play). I gun hunt every year in Iowa and I'd love to rifle hunt it one year in Kansas, but I'm addicted to the bowhunting so much I can't lay it down and pick up the ole 300 Win. Mag.
