I apologize if this has been addressed already, but I’m wondering how much height the lid adds to the k4 3600 bag when it’s only partially full. I haven’t used more than 50% of the volume in this bag since I got it (dayhunting, I probably went way overboard but I love the frame), and I’d like a little more quick access and organization, but don’t want additional bulk or pack height.
From what I can see, the lid would kinda “fold over” the empty top half of my bag and not add to the overall height, but I’d love to hear from anyone with first hand experience here. I have the crib panel as well, and have been thinking of adding a smaller bag to it. That plus the lid could make a great daypack (and be cheaper than the 2200).
I’ve also thought about just getting a small non-framed day pack, but that just seems unnecessary when I already have a great pack.
Any thoughts from y’all? Would the lid be a good way to get some quick access/not have to unbuckle everything without adding much extra height or bulk? Or am I just trying to force my current setup into a suboptimal use case?
