Does anyone remove the depth setting screw in K&M expanding mandrels? I don't like the idea of the depth screw slamming into the flash hole area. What do you all do?

I was too cheep to get the window...but does that help in not accidently touching the case neck against mandrel holder?I don't use them in my K&M mandrels. I have that K&M riser piece with the window slot so I can see what's going on.

I don't have any trouble with it but until you get a feel for it you'll want to go slow and watch what you're doing.I was too cheep to get the window...but does that help in not accidently touching the case neck against mandrel holder?
I do that as well, but I'm just wondering on the cases that top out and touch, would I be damaging the neck at all. I am being as gentle as I can as to not do this, but some do slip. I haven't seen any visible damage but couldn't be good.I formed more 220 Russian into 6ppc than I would ever want to count, plus necking up a bunch of other cases. I just removed the screw and never had a problem.
I'm expanding both short and long action cases. I actually dislike the long more, the set screw is pretty wobbly in there. I wonder if anyone has ever put a little rubber bumper on there, similar to something like the rubber gasket on a syringe. I just haven't seen one that small. With short action you can probably ditch the screw. Long action without the riser you probably need the screw, or another way to consistently stop yourself before hitting the case mouth on top
