I had a lift 29.5 that I didn't like the color of, so I sold it. Now im unsure of what to do. I doubt I need another bow for this season, but im looking at some lift x. Anyone know for sure when Mathews is releasing their new bow? how long after release do dealers actually get it? how long after that do they start discounting old models?

From what I remember Mathews is usually the last 2 weeks of November. Most of the time the dealers will discount once the new bow are released, but it varies by shop. Most of my shops only do $100 off. I would look to buy a Lift X in classifieds or Ebay as the price is much better if that is what you want with the understanding there is no warranty.... I think often the dealers can order a pre-release set of bows so they have some on hand at release day. However, the model, color, specs, may not be what you want. Usually I have seen mathews lead times at release day be around 4-8 weeks or so depending on spec you want. If you are Left handed it's longer, and the shops usually have like 1, if that for a demo, and they often don't sell it for that reason. This will vary some by size of shop as well. Some shops do so much volume they have more. In Oregon where I lived for a while, the local shop would have half the volume of a shop 2hrs away in a bigger city. It's worth the drive if you want to get your hands on it right away. I'd call ahead tho:)

As far as now what? Depends really on your interest? Speed? ATA? Weight? All sorts of stuff. PSE has really good stuff, but I have heard from several shops and online conversations, their lead times suck. Not sure if they fixed this now? Last year some carbon bows were 4-6months after their initial release. My shop often had only 3 PSE bows on the wall. Maybe that's just here though. Even if my shop said PSE fixed their supply issues, and quoted me 8 weeks, I'm still skeptical...My personal taste I prefer the Evolve cam over the new PSE cams released now.

Nov 15th, I wouldnt be in a hurry to spend my money knowing what i know.

Spoke to my Mathews rep yesterday. I'm excited!! I'll quote Forrest Gump: "that's all I have to say about that!"

1999 is what I saw. I'm in no rush either. I'm ready to replace a 15 year old bow, but I probably won't be shopping till after the new year anyway. There's too many up and coming options I want to get my hands on and feel
It really amazes me how expensive these carbon bows are for, what seems like, minimal differences. My 29.5 lift was just at 4.0 pounds. This 2k carbon bows is listed at 3.9….so what’s the benefit of spending an extra $650?

From what I saw/read...the price point is just because they are the ONLY carbon riser made in the US and it's pretty labor intensive.
I agree with your question though.

I have never shot a carbon bow, so I don't know if or how much difference there is in "feel". Im sure there is a reason to use it, but I can't say that I know what it is.

Ask yourself why other companies are charging the same for aluminium as someone else can charge for magnite. I do agree with them...30% is a big difference. 5-8% really isn't

Cured the “what now” itch a bit. Went to my Mathews dealer and shot a lift x 33. It was a tad smoother, but not enough to want to have to change my skb case, deal with it in the stand, etc. so looks like I’ll be sticking with either a 29.5 lift x or whatever the shorter bow is at release.
