Has anyone incorporated jump rope work outs into their preparation and workouts? I would think this would change things up a little bit and I have heard good things about these workouts. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to incorporate it into your fitness routine?

I do jump rope Tabatas style. 20 sec of work 10 sec rest, for 4 minutes

In my basketball days I was a jump rope fanatic. I used to do sets of 100 one leg, 100 other leg, 200 both legs, 200 running style, and then shoot free throws in between sets. I still pull the rope out every now and then in the driveway, but it's hard on the knees these days. I also loved working out on the bleachers at the stadium with the same kind of workout, but without the rope.;) Wish I had a stadium close by, I could handle that kind of cardio.

I did my first one this morning. Way harder than just running. Not something I'll do all the time but will keep mixing it in for sure.

I try to incorporate jump rope into my workouts at least 2 days a week. I do 200 between lifting sets to keep heart rate up. Shoot for 5 sets of 200. Get a quality rope and adjust the length to fit you, makes a big difference.

Thats what I started doing in order to keep my heart elevated during strength training. I also think it will help prepare my calves.

Sizing is very important. A good rope is also important.

Try learning double-unders once you are proficient with singles or get bored with them. Great Cardio workout
