Archery elk hunting out west. I normal wear Sitka apex hoody most of the time. Thinking of adding the Jetstream vest for a little added warmth and wind protection when need? Is there a better option out there?

I like the peloton 240 vest from Kuiu…quiet, very wind resistant (not windproof) and light. If you want windproof, you might like the mountain vest better. The jetstream has a louder face and not the most packable.

Not to contradict the above, but... If durability is a concern, the Jetstream is going to be far more durable that the 240 as far as snags. It's also sitkas windproof layer...the 240 from my experience is neither windproof nor durable and having had both they pack down very similarly. Assuming it's archery so pack space isn't really limited by a ton of cold weather gear, the extra 6oz is well worth it.

There is a reason the Jetstream jacket is easily the most popular soft shell in existence (on this site anyhow). The vest is no different.

I'd also add the Mountain vest to your list to look. Has a soft microfiber outer and is very windproof (Goretex Infinium-same as the Jetstream)- lighter than the Jetstream, but should be on par as far as durability.

The Jetstream adds a microgrid interior that would add some warmth over the Mountain, but at close to double the weight.
