Can someone explain the difference in the jetboil products. Specifically the zip, flash, and stash. Then please share your opinions on best backcountry stove setup.

Thanks!

Zip doesn’t have auto striker. Zip/flash both are on/off , no simmer

Love my flash.

I found this helpful in me narrowing down to the Minimo for cold late season (regulated is key)

Another vote for the mo burner. The regulated gas is more efficient and i like the adjustability. I am using the burner with a zip pot.

I also prefer that burner. I have an old Titanium Pot kicking around still that I use mostly. If I'm going late season where I might want to melt snow, I carry the minimo pot.

I am a big fan of the flash. It has worked great for me. It is really only used for boiling water though

I'm in the preferring the mo versions, but I only have one. If I had two I could see getting the flash for times when I just want to melt snow or boil water..

For shorter trips (1-2 days), I'll run a MSR Pocket Rocket 2 with titanium cookware. I get the 3.9oz cannisters that fit inside the pot along with the Pocket Rocket. I usually get about 2 days of 3 mountain house meals per day from a 3.9oz cannister at 1-3k elevation. I've never run out of gas or tried to test it though, I always just bring a new one on trips. If I am going higher than that I bring the bigger fuel containers so I don't have to worry about it. I also have a Jetboil flash which I really like, but it takes up more space than my Pocket Rocket setup. I'll use it for backpacking trips when I take my bigger pack.
