Got my first javelina Friday ever, and with a bow. Makes my first deer, elk and javelina my first season with archery. I was in 4 herds before I got it done, cause I still choke a little as a newbie archer.

It’s a blast hunting the little buggers. I tried a couple years with a rifle, but I couldn’t do it. So got my buddy, a javelina whisperer to take me out. Got it done in the first day with his help.
After a few it should get easy peasy even with a bow. You won’t get them every stalk but almost.
That’s wild! Gramps has told me that since they introduced javelina seemed like the lions and coyotes ate more of them than his calves and he was alright with that
That is awesome I will keep that in mind. I figured coyotes would come in to it. I usually do a couple sets while I’m tooling around. Congrats on the cats!
Yotes do respond too. I called two in last Feb for my wife with that same call. A double came in hot and she buck-fevered herself into a panic and missed. Good times though, I laughed my ass off. The call is the orange one from sportsman’s warehouse.
The one season I tried coyote calling solo and green years ago, I called in a pack of javelina. They were woofing and walking all around me. It was Christmas Eve day, and it was overcast and sprinkling.

Most people get their knives in dorsal gland/residue and then tarnish lots of the meat by not noticing. We always chorizo all of our for breakfast burritos. It's great.

Stay with a friend in Flag, we drive down each day to the valley. I have a close friend in Verde as well that we will tie in with. It’s not the most heavily populated unit, but we know where they hang.

Appreciate it. My oldest and I whacked (or harvested
) 2 a couple years ago when he was a senior. This year is my youngest boy’s senior year. I just think it’s cool to have a couple kids from Montucky travel to the SW to chase AZ grizzlies. It’s a unique experience for kids from up here. I spend a lot of time down there, so it’s fun to share my experiences with them. I have a couple “guides” that are classic, born and raised, AZ hicks. Its a fun time.
