IWB holsters that don't suck

I can't say enough good things about these for the, umm.... festive figure 🙂

I started carrying with one & I found it to be very comfortable. To be fair, I wasn't sure how a holster 'should' feel, but as a first timer I had zero problem carrying with it.

I've disenchunkulated a LOT since then & changed holsters, although I still appendix carry.

If you were packing a 365, I'd gladly send you it.

Tenicor and JM Custom Kydex have served me well
Have carried both extensively. 16 plus hours a day. I lean towards Tenicor now but have had great luck with JM.

Also, there is always going to be some pressure from carrying a concealed firearm, particularly seated. With that said, I can wear any belt and I haven’t found that matters too much with proper fitting pants, usually one size big.

Also, another option is a high quality outside the waistband holster. You will have to modify you wardrobe more but I can’t tell I’m carrying with my Tenicor OWB holster. An OWB holster does require a more robust belt.

Your pants or belt are likely the culprit to an IWB holster not being comfortable. To tight a waist band or a belt that doesn't support the weight of the firearm will cause most of your pain points.
I was just going to reply with that.
A good belt, and sizing your waistline to accommodate for an extra 2” of holster makes such a difference.

This is probably why you prefer your shorts when carrying.

I’ve been very happy with the hunter Constantine stretchy belt. It makes bending over with an appendix rig so much better.

Also @Wprinkle can you tell us a little more about the specifics of what is causing it to be uncomfortable? “Lots of pubic bone pressure” gets solved differently than “beaver tail causing belly bruising” etc.

I went up from a 34 to a 36 waist pant. Next I use IWB holsters from tenicor and G code. I carry a full size pistol with an x300 daily. I’ve even carried it in this configuration in a couple of foreign countries.

Jeans, shorts, even suits. No issues for me.

The trick is finding what works for you and not everyone else.

The Vedder light tuck has been an amazingly comfortable holster for a p365. Worn it pretty much everyday for 5 years.

Went with a LAS Concealment Kaizen for a Staccato C2. Just received it. So far so good but will need a little time to see if it works out long term. Running the Kaizen with a cloudster pillow. The cloudster pillow is very plush and comfortable.

This is the best belt I have used. Unreal easy to lossen when you sit down, and tighten when you stand up. Infinitely adjustable for different clothes guns, activity, and food babies.

Glock 45 with hmr holstered in a tier 1 appendix carry. No issues here. I'm 5'11" 185 so I wouldn't say I'm anorexic but there's no belly getting into my draw stroke either

So no skinny dude. I'm a pretty swoll 200 and I have a little bit of belly flab.
I only use Tier 1 appendix rigs. It's the most comfortable holsters I've found.
Sometimes for work I'll have some 24 hour drives. Probably the most comfortable holsters for sitting. I'd rather appendix than OWB for driving. Honestly I don't like OWB.

I have almost as many hours carrying a gun after the age of 21, as I do wearing shoes.

A vast majority of those years have been spent with a Comp Tac MTAC, carried at 4:30 ish, with a g19. The hybrid style of a leather back and kydex front is very comfortable on the body, but that half kydex shell is fast to draw from and stays open so you can re-holster more easily.

I’ve had that Tenicor Zero belt for a little over a year now and have been using Tenicors Certum Lux with it. This one is all kydex and it is a bit less comfortable. Conceals almost as well, but I’m using it with an optic and light on a G19 now. This is my favorite set up at the moment. Yes the MTAC is more comfortable, but I have gotten used to this and I really wanted to add the light and optic capability to better match my work gun and capabilities of that work gun.

I am thin and sorta athletic. But I could not make appendix work for me. Maybe just a body shape thing. Or maybe I haven’t tried the right holster yet. I want to be able to. It has advantages.

The Phlster enigma (not a holster really, but look it up) was on my list to experiment with, but I ended up happy with the Tenicor.

I carry a Tier 1 concealed with mag carrier. Glock 43x with red dot and light every day along with the extra mag. I put a medium wedge on the back. Can't see it even in a fitted T shirt. There is ALOT of adjustability with this holster.

Pants and belt are important. All my pants are sized up one size to accommodate the holster. I also carry a Kore belt which really let's you dial in the tightness.

Two reasons IMO 1. my shorts fit a tick looser but the big one my waist to thigh size is odd. Shorts have looser leg room than my pants thus that little area between a front pocket and zipper is tighter in pants for me. And its hard to find pants that are loose there but where I still dont look like snoop dog baggy pants...
Yup, that makes alof of sense
