Just want to hear some affirmation here lol. Shooting 68# 480 grain total weight. 270 fps 150g iron will S series 5mm axis. (considering switching to the single bevel wide). Also, am going back and forth on turning up the poundage some.
Arrow will be fine based on my experience arrowing 6 of them. Don’t shoot him in the shoulder as they have huge bones. Ribs are not an issue. I centered a rib on my last moose last fall and a 3-blade NAP 1.5” original Spitfire cut it completely off….penetration to the far side, moose dead in 30 yards. 475 gr arrow out of a 65# bow going 271 fps.
Yes. That setup will work fine. Don’t worry about increasing the poundage. I put one down at about 30 yds with a similar setup at 65#. I did go with a single bevel cutthroat and am sticking to it this year for elk.
