Is there a way to fix this stippling

Was stupid and carried my rifle around with the scope cover off while hunting. Now the eye piece is covered in these little dots. I think it's dust. Tried brushing them off and cleaning with an alcohol lens wipe, probably a dumb move. Didn't seem to remove any of it. It's a Maven RS.1 - 2.5-15x44 FFP if that makes any difference.

No, it's not brand new. bought it used and it didn't have this when I got it

Nope,I'm guessing those would destroy the coating but not sure

Does it affect shooting at all?

If it's dust on the inside, I've been able to get dust off the glass by using a hair dryer to heat the glass and then banging the scope on a soft mat. This makes the dust fall down off the glass.

Try running some warm tap water over it (water to carry away the small particles).

If it is dust inside, definitely send it back. It was either a bad assembly or it lost its nitrogen purge, You could try and see if it will fog up by getting it cold then applying heat with a blow dryer to test.

Looks like you chipped the coating. I have a cpl optics similar but not as bad.

Primarily carry my scoped rifles all the time with no covering and have never had lenses like that. Sure you didn't get some type of gun cleaning agent on the lens?

If you have a silicon lens cloth a quick wipe will sometimes show if it’s some discoloring on the surface of the lenses. I have some scopes with something like tree sap that has dried and eaten away some of the coatings where it was.

In wet areas lens fungus is well known to attack lenses, but I don’t know if it causes dots. Maybe contaminants on the lenses harbor small patches?

So I took another look at the scope today and after feeling the glass with my fingernail I realized that I can feel this layer, I just have very short fingernails and couldn't tell yesterday. I flushed the lens with water and used a drop of soap, as per Maven's instructions on their website, repeated that several times, and now the glass looks brand new! Relieved it wasn't anything permanent. Thanks for everyone's help.
