I would love to support Danner, since they are made in the USA and actually much closer to home for me living in Portland, OR. I have not had good luck with them. I went through 3 pair of one of their best US made boots before the warranty ran out.
The fact that they only have a 1 year warranty (6 months if used for occupation like logging, guiding, etc) tells you all you need to know. And it is not a 1 year warranty for each pair of boots if you need a replacement, it is 1 year from the original purchase date. So it doesn't matter if you get 11 months out of a pair of boots and then your replacments fail after a month...you're screwed. They used to have a lifetime warranty.
Every other high end boot manufacturer in that price range have a lifetime warranty. I have a very difficult time investing that kind of money in a product that the company will only stand behind for a year, or less if you use them for your occupation.
