is the OR Advance Bivy the best stand alone bivy choice?

I am about to buy a new bivy and I want one that is bomb proof as a stand alone bivy. I had an Alpine bivy and like it except the single pole system let the bug netting hang in you face. Are there option that are lighter and just as good or better for use with out a tarp or shelter?

Yes I think the RAB ridge master or a BA 3 wire bivy is better both are made with eVent fabric. The 3 wire is no longer made but still a good choice if you find one used. Rosinbag was selling one on this site not to long ago.

RAB ridge master seems more like a tent then a bivy. I really don't want anything that has to staked out. I really like the Advanced Bivy just wish it was lighter.
