Is the hide on this goat fixable?

Killed a Billy last week. Wanting to get it shoulder mounted but not sure if it’s even worth having a taxi try and work with it? If not I’ll just boil the skull and tan the hide into a throw or something. Goat fell about 1200’ or so, broke one of the horns and skinned the heck out of one side of his face.

I'd get your favorite taxidermist to quote you a price for the mount with a replacement hide, but with the broken horn left as is. Falling 1200' is a story worth preserving. Good luck.

Agreed - that cape is toast. I’d see if you could get a mount with a replacement.

I’m ignorant to having mounts done other than bear rugs but can that not be finished into a mount the way it is? That tells a story of the hunt. If it was my goat I wouldn’t fix it if it can be mounted like that. I have a black bear that I had the taxi shave and remove canines from the form to look exactly like the skull.
