Sourdough made a valid point as caribou may be an entry level trophy for many. I have spent many decades hunting Alaska, as Sourdough has, and I've been around thousands of caribou many times so caribou don't excite me like a dall ram would....or better yet, a shot at a wolf.
If you're a hunter, you usually hunt what's available in your area while you plan and save for larger game in another area. Several Rokslide members have asked about DIY Alaska moose hunts and they usually get the advice to try caribou first. That is good advice!
