Is it ever too late to start DIY Elk Hunting?

Went on my first DIY hunt in WY last year at age 47. Only one other elk hunt that was in my mid twenties. Wish I'd started a long time ago.

turned 40 on Sunday, a month from now will be my first time elk hunting (cow), which ill be trying with a bow in Idaho

This reminds me of a quote from the late Warren Miller, "If you don't do it this year, you'll be one year older when you do."

Love this! The only limitations we truly have are the ones our mind puts on ourselves. There are only so many September's in one man's life... might as well take advantage of them!

I started when I was 31. Headed out this fall again with my elk hunting mentor he is 78. And tough as boot leather

I started hunting last year at age 31. I had never hunted *anything* prior to that, nor had I ever owned a firearm. But I went all in and had the good fortune of getting a cow elk. You can do it.
