Is 340 stiff enough

Going to buy some new Axis arrows. I shot a pse dna sp 65lbs arrows 27.5 long. Thinking about switching to the brass inserts over the standard ones. Going to just use 50 g on the brass inserts. I'm I ok still with 340 or should I bump it up to 300?

I would probably stick with 340’s myself. Victory has a good spine calculator.

I think you would be good to go. You can always call Easton they have great customer service and would give you a definitive answer.

My vote is to go 300. Why not have a little stiffer spine? I don't know the ibo of that bow, but it will be easier to tune with a 300. Unless you are trying to preserve your foc. If it's under 345 fps ibo you will probably be fine with 340's but I have been sticking to heavier spines and haven't seen a draw back. If it's a speed bow I bet you could have some difficulty tuning a 340 with fixed heads. Not familiar with the bow tho.

I would go with 300's on a DNA with added insert weight. Both of the DNA cams need a stiffer arrow, IMO.

I shoot a 70lb CC Cam PSE DNA and it flat out will not shoot 340's. The SP cam should be a little better, but it is still a speed cam. My arrow setup was a Beman Hunter 300 with 50gr insert and 125gr point.

I just had a situation this week where my 340 axis cut to 27.5" with std HIT, 125 gr. pt and 10 gr. footer spines fine for my 65#/27.5" DL Hoyt turbo but would not for a 70# bow w the same cams.

I am having to go to a 300 for the 70# bow.

What length of arrow are you shooting.

I used it and it came up 350. Thank you.

28" carbon to carbon. I tried to use VAP 350's from the bow the DNA replaced, a 70lb Mossy Oak X. Those were 27" plus the aluminum outsert. Those arrows just wouldn't tune with broadheads. It bareshaft tuned great, but put a broadhead on and it went to hell. I shot both Wasp Boss SST and Slick Trick Magnum in 125gr. At that point I went to the Beman 300's and bumped the insert weight to get my arrow weight up.

Just my experience. Mine is a different bow, so YMMV.
