I’ve shot both. Iron Wills fly really well for me. Very fine crafted head. Scary sharp and will hold an edge for a long time

My issue with the VPA 3 Blade was forgiveness. I did find that VPA would group right with my field points when I was making a good shot, but they were much more sensitive to a bad shot than other broadheads.
I can bare shaft tune and broadhead tune a bow to where I'm getting bare shafts to hit with field points at 40, and broadheads to group with field points out to 80 minus a little drop. What I see is group size with the VPA is larger, and bad shots show a worse miss than with pretty much any other head I've tested. At shorter ranges though, (30 - 40 yards) not an issue at all.
Other heads I've shot: A ton of mechanicals, Shuttle T, Solid, Iron Will, Wac 'Em, Muzzy, Slick Trick off the top of my head.
Which VPA heads were you using? I just picked up some 1-1/4 3 blade vented to try out. I’d imagine the solids are a little less forgiving than the vented. My issue with the VPA 3 Blade was forgiveness. They tuned your bow while they shot it? Or while you shot it? A tune isn't worth a nickel if it isn't tuned to the shooter.this is my exp too!!!

Ever notice how most broadhead problem threads involve something along the lines of ... “my bow is tuned to perfection by shop XYZ?” That means little! No to take anything away from Bob, his shop is fantastic, I live just a few miles away and I’ve known him for many years, they can tune as well as anybody, but the final tune needs to be done by the shooter! You will hold the bow and release the string differently than any other person. Therefore, you need to do the final tweaking. I’ve shot stuff with VPA’s out to ranges I’d never quote on the internet, and out of a bow that is tuned to the shooter they will shoot as well as anything else. To say that they are only suitable for eastern whitetails is just silly. There’s countless mule deer, elk and antelope that would disagree with you!this is my exp too!!!
