Wondering if anyone has used any of the Irish Setter boots in the mountains. I had shed trackers for work and absolutely loved them. We are going to be chasing elk in the San Juans for 8-10 days this fall and have looked at the Vaprtrek. Just wondered what kind of feedback we could get. Thanks

I have three pair of vaprtreks and I wear em every day. Incredibly light and comfortable. Perfect for my fall moose and bird hunting but I haven't tried em for sheep hunting. A young friend wore his for sheep last year and swears by em as he doesn't like heavy mountain boots....

Footwear is very subjective!

Timmy, I had a buddy who went through two pairs of Vaprtreks in a matter of 2 months because they fell apart so quickly. He was wearing them daily walking fields doing crop inspections. I was thinking of getting a pair until he told me that. Did a little more research and found quite a few reviews of guys saying they fell apart quickly. Then again, my buddy had his when they very first came out, Irish Setter may have done some quality control since them. On a funny side note, my buddy who told me that and I will also be chasing elk in the San Juan for 8-10 days this fall.

I've had my VaprTreks for 3 years now. Used them mostly antelope and muley hunting and they have performed great. I did use them on my bear hunt this spring. Great for flatlands and prairies but I found as for mountains and steep terrain they weren't the greatest
