Iridium Go vs Sat Phone

I was looking at sat phones for a couple upcoming trips but intrigued by the ability to also check email if needed. Wish I could completely unplug but not the reality for me. Weight is not a big factor. Anyone have opinions on the following?

1. Reliability and ease of email over the Iridium Go
2. Sat phone reliability and ease of use vs Iridium Go for calls
3. Best sat phone option if I go that route: 9505a?

I've always rented iridium. No idea about the email/phone thing.
Get an xtra battery, they go down QUICK!!
