Ok, if so I already have one of those.
What I am looking for is a simple charger that can use regular AA batteries as well, not just rechargeable batteries. As far as I can tell the Goal Zero battery pack will only use the rechargeable batteries, I cant just throw in a set of AA batteries and charge my phone(unless I am doing something wrong?).
Does anyone make a simple, small charger with USB output that can take regular off the shelf AA batteries?
While in airplane mode will my phone still pair with the Inreach? Would I still be able to send and receive messages via sat.?

Alkaline batteries have 1800-2600 mAh, non-rechargeable lithiums have 2700-3400 mAh and are also lighter than alkaline.
I just played around with my phone real fast. I was able to turn on bluetooth in airplane mode. I'll try to test it with the Inreach later.
The Goal Zero Guide 10 works exactly like that. I used it this way for an entire season. It's much better with lithiums versus alkaline though. With 4 lithiums you get a full charge on an iPhone. I don't see how you could be doing it wrong. Mine works just the same as with the rechargeable AA's but doesn't provide a comparable charge unless you use lithiums.

GoPro app. I don't have a GP yet but I was wondering how ya'll like the GP and the app.
If you plan to shoot photos with the GoPro, the LCD backpack is almost necessary. You can get decent results shooting blind, but you'll end up junking a lot of the photos that are not framed well. BTW, I'm using the iPhone 5 with mine. Make sure you update firmware in the camera before you use the app. Many people are not able to get them to talk until the firmware is updated to the latest version in the camera.
