Looks like a summer/ early season sleep system would fit down there pretty good.
Can you fit a boned out Deer and 2L of water in the main compartment?

Is there any way to snug up the side spotter pockets if the compression straps are connected to the loops closest to the frame?

Also, if using the connections on the back panel for the straps can all of the slack be taken up with nothing in the load sling.? So the pack doesn't flop around and bounce away from the frame?

...both questions come back to looking for a way to secure the spotter in the slot pockets but not have to undo all the straps around the sides to get it out....

Thanks.

The top compression strap will be connected so you can keep the spotter strapped in tight and the two lower straps can be moved back to compress the panel area and not the bag.

The 6 straps and 2 G hook connects that attach the bag to the frame are all designed to cinch down to secure the bag and have no flop when attached to the frame.

The pack is attached to the frame in 4 places (2 at the top and 2 at the bottom), not including any compression straps.

As far as it bouncing, if you have a bag with no compression at all, there's no way to stop it from moving. ....so I would say moving 2 compression straps forward and leaving one back is best. Then you only have one buckle to loosen.

So you'll need at least one strap going from front to back....no way around that.

I think adding a lash kit to the bag would allow you to compress the bag and the load panel separately. That way you're not squeezing the crap out of the contents in the bag, while securing the heavier load in the load sling.

That's correct, but adds a little weight and from what I've used the pack, doing what I described is the easiest, cheapest and lightest option.

Having said that, the new buckle and compression straps work great for what you described.

In your video you said the bag is the same size as the DT2. I'm assuming that's the portion of the bag above the sleeping bag compartment?

Any way I could see how the pack guys a rifle with a large turret scope attached? I know you guys said it would be tight but kinda curious to see just how tight. About to purchase a new nightforce ( atacr or nxs but that's another question for a different section of the forum) and was wondering if it would fit in the scabbard with relative ease. If not would I be better off with the mountain warrior? I mostly bowhunting anyway but sometimes take both during general season. Would be nice to throw it in a scabbard if possible.

It is about the same size of a DT2 without the sleeping bag compartment, sorry for the confusion.

Got it. We are on the same page. I originally bought the DT2 two years ago and it served it's purpose quite well, just thought I could use a few extra CI to haul meat and camp without too much hassle. Then the Nomad came out with seamed to provide great flexibility when combined with the camp bag. I'm thinking I might just have to "upgrade" again.

How well does the load shelf work with the bikini frame? I'm assuming the load will bulge through since this happened with my water bladder quite often.

Seems the rifle scabbard will easily fit an AR15/10 type firearm. Measurement of my shorty AR carbine is about 10" from top of scope turret to grip and 34" OAL. Is there a way to 'shorten' the bottom sleeve of the scabbard for shorter firearms?
