I did this same modification to another stock and took photos of it this time to show the process is anyone else wants to try. I like the look and function of the GW, or other expensive stocks who have since followed suit. If interested, I can link the rail used. The rear hole lines up perfectly with the sling stud on the vg stock
First I taped off the area where I was going to cut along after eyeing up the depth. Dremel works well to get through the carbon, filler is easy to cut with a hack saw. After removing the shell sanded the area flat.
Taped off the groove that I wanted to remove material from. Ground out with dremel
Painted the exposed filler after getting the rail to fit.
Put a smalll amount of 5 min plastic epoxy in bottom for leveling. After that set, fixed the bolt into the insert for the sling swivel. Finally, added one screw to the front. Not really needed, just wanted to make it look nice. Thanks
