I usually wear muck boots while stand hunting, but often earlier in the season or during gun season when moving around a bit more find them to be heavy and not too comfortable for longer walks/still hunts. Looking at an insulated hiking boot style like the UA Browtine, Danner High ground, or the new Cabelas Instinct 400 gram insulated varieties. Jeez, these boots must all be made in teh same factory as they look pretty similar. Anyone have any opinions or experience with these or offer any other suggestions?

What terrain will you be hunting and in what temperature range? I hunt the mountains of CO and the flat lands OK and TX, in temps that range from just under 0 degrees to the 50's. Everybody has their favorites and mine are Kenetrek Mountain Extremes and Kenetrek Grizzly pac's when hunting in snow or really wet conditions. I like Kenetreks because they fit my medium width and narrow heel foot better than most other boots I've tried with the possible exception of Asolo's. I really like Asolo uninsulated boots for early season hunts.
