Looking for new bibs for sitting during PA rifle season. My current Cabelas brand have a few downsides that I would like to change:
1. Legs only zip to knee. Difficult to fit my size 14 boots through when I get to my stand.
2. Chest zipper is only 1 way. Can't take leak without having to pull top layers up to find zipper to pull down.

What brands do you find are lightweight, warm, packable, and waterproof?

Probably 2x tall sizing

The first lite solitude is a nice set of bibs. Warm and all the features you are looking for.

I really like the Kryptek Aegis system. I have hunted in the bibs for the past 9 years and have no complaints. Two way fly, three way side zippers to help both vent heat and get my big boots off and on. Water and wind proof, comfortable and so far well made! I ground hunt out of a blind in northern BC. and have used these bibs down to -25C with heavy weight long underwear and been comfortable and warm.

Cheers

I've got a pair of cabelas bibs that I love. Full length leg zips to the thigh and 2 way chest zipper.

Look at Mountaineering or alpine ski gear bibs vrs hunting. Arctyrex is my go to for all day on the mountains. The only down side is noise. Check out web site Gear Lab and see how they test and recommend.

I put them on after hiking to my stand. Difficult to work my size 14 boots through the legs when they only unzip to knee.

I can tell you from experience unless they added a windproof liner. The kuiu proximity are not windproof at all. Froze to death in those things

Kuiu released a new line this year called the Super Down Haven that is windproof

I didn’t know that. I bet they are much better. I went to down insulation full time. I got away from bibs and all that. Takes up too much space

Sitka Fanatic or Stratus depending on your temp range and if you want to wear anything under it.

I like my First Lite Sanctuary bibs. They legs unzip all the way up past your hips, have a zipper specifically for taking a leak, have great pockets, are quiet, and are very warm. They are however quite bulky and don't pack down small. I strap them to my pack and put them on when I get to my stand. If I walk in them, I get very sweaty...
