I get about a million questions on insoles, but would like to hear what everyone is using and why.

Here's my list of what I've tried.

Lathrop and Sons Synergy

Soles (blue model)

Superfeet (green model)

After 100's of miles on each, the Superfeet are at the bottom of the list for sure. The SF are not bad, but for my feet I had the worst luck with hot spots and blisters compared to the others.

I took a while for me to trust the Synergy, but on one of my hunts this year I came out with over 100 lbs for 5 mils and did not get a single hot spot! That had never happened before and pretty much made me a believer.

I have been using Soles, red, and haven't had any issues other then i feel they need to be replaced after a year. Maybe it is just me but they seem to wear down with a ton of use :)

I switched from Green Superfeet to Orange. Same support just a bit more cushion.

Though I would like the try the Lathrop and Sons Synergy if given the chance.

Gives more of your thoughts on the Synergy, do you heat them to mold to your feet? They look like silicon?

The synergy footbeds are awesome! When working out I used to get shin splints constantly but now that I started wearing them working out my shins feel great.

I must have gotten a defective set of the synergy footbeds because mine didn't even make it thru one archery season. The little gel dots (or whatever you wanna call them) went completely flat anywhere there was constant weight . They were great for the few weeks they lasted but for the money I expected a little more. Maybe I will give them another try?

I am with Dotman, need some more input. I been using superfeet and even ran a marathon with them, but the Synergy's seem like they would be pretty comfy!

Ckleeves - lathrop had a defective batch and recalled a bunch of synergys last year. You may want to call them and see if you're eligible for a new pair. I'm a believer with the synergys. They still don't look like an insole I'm used to but they proved themselves in the field.

We did in fact have a bad batch early last year about 150 pair to be exact. I can assure you guys James and I busted our tails to get them replaced. We honestly thought this problem was solved. It sounds like you have a bad set. If this is the case we want to solve this problem for you. Please contact us.

Stephen can you give us some more input on these insoles, the down-low, what do we do to get the proper fit, all that jazz?

Stephen, I ordered the Synergy Foot beds 08/19/2011. They aren't from the bad batch are they? How can I tell if they are?

Those aren't from the bad batch and you'd know if they were.

I will get in touch with Stephen and have him post again with his thoughts.

Honestly you guys will laugh at me but what is the difference in a stock insole and a super feet or lathrop and sons one? Can you tell a big difference?

It all depends on your feet for example. I have a high arch and with some of the stock insoles being flatter not giving me the support allowing my foot to flex too far and the back of my heel will rub causing irritation and or blisters, this is magnified when carrying heavy loads. Finding a after market insole with the arch support I need for me is key to be able to stay on my feet without issue. If my feet go first the rest of my body suffers and the trip of a lifetime goes south in a hurry.
