Ammo is really hard to find and expensive. I've heard that it is a good round but never really took off. Thinking about selling it and getting something else. Anyone have any experience with this?

Have you tried using ammoseek to find ammo? Seems to be a lot out there.

Plenty of ammo available for it right now. Great round, but I am a sucker for esoteric shit.... use the link from TaperPin and buy as much as you can afford. It is a round that comes and goes in availability, and there is a lot available now

Yeah I understand that niche cartridge and availability is a killer. For that reason Cabelas gun library overflowing with ruger 300 rcm and 338 rcm.
If you don’t like it just sell it. Ruger not the best platform for barrel swap and after market price availability.

Steve Hornady said this is the best Hornady round. Like others said buy a bunch now and get dies. When ammo pops up now and then add a couple more boxes to your stash. Guys always fret a cartridge is going to “die” but the manufacturers do runs for stuff that wasn’t popular 100 years ago when introduced let alone stuff that was introduced recently. If you only want to buy 20 rounds at a time maybe not for you;)

358 win, 257 Roberts, 280 Rem and many other great hunting cartridges fall in simlar bucket. You are missing out if only go with what is popular today. The WSMs were the PRCs of 20 years ago so that changes in a short time
