I may not be the brightest crayon in the box but man am I getting frustrated trying to obtain information on hunting at Navajo Lake State Park in New Mexico. On the state parks website it clearly lists that hunting is a permitted activity within designated areas. Online I cant find any more info that that. No maps, no regulations, no nothing. There is a great link to a brochure that says "for further info contact game and fish." Once on the game and fish website there is a quick snippet on hunting state parks where they direct you to contact the state parks for more info.

I have called both the Navajo Lake office as well as the main line for NM State Parks with no answers. I have left multiple voicemails with no response. I have sent emails to the provided email addresses online again to no response. To say the least I am a bit frustrated stuck in this internet eddy of no info and lack of response from any party involved.

So if anyone on this forum has ever hunted or successfully talked to a human being regarding the hunting regulations at Navajo Lake would you mind sending me a PM? More specifically I am interested in rifle deer hunting around the lake.

You are permitted to waterfowl hunt the Quality Waters section of the San Juan River 1/4 mile down from the dam, all other hunting rules and regulations applied. You are not permitted to hunt big game within the park boundaries.

Download a park boundaries map. I also recommend you install the CarryMaps app on your phone. It is what Game and Fish use for detailed information about units and lands restrictions.
